LABBEH shipped in a day
A blood-donation directory, from first commit to labbeh.org on the same day — with a pre-launch audit that caught a date bug from 2001.
LABBEH answers one question: where can I donate blood? It maps accredited donation centres across the Kingdom and points to official booking.
All twelve commits happened on 12 October, and it went live at labbeh.org the same day.
The pre-launch audit was worth it. It caught a "since 12 Oct 2001" bug caused by how the database driver returns dates — fixed at the root, not patched on screen.
Two small things I'm proud of:
- Records imported from an older public list are marked "not yet independently verified" instead of pretending they were checked.
- Arabic has its own grammar for numbers (one, two, three to ten, eleven to ninety-nine, a hundred and up). LABBEH has a helper just for that.
It's an independent community initiative — not a health or government body. Blood donation happens through accredited providers.
